So following the "Amazing Race" auditions, it was then off to the 63rd annual Watermelon Festival in Newberry, which was fun too. Literally several thousand people were there. If I didn't have to cover softball, I would've stayed longer, cause apparently I missed some really great contests. I did get to watch the watermelon rolling contest and part of the hog calling contest (yeah, that was interesting) though, so at least I got a feel for what the event was like. I would totally go again next year.
